Axial fan has the following main characteristics:

1, if the axial flow wind mechanism into adjustable moving blade or static blade, the adjustment efficiency is high, the fan can work in the high efficiency area. Therefore, the operating cost is significantly lower than that of centrifugal fans.

The efficiency of axial fan is as high as 90%, and that of centrifugal fan with fins is as high as 92.8%. However, when the unit is under low load, the efficiency of the rotor vane or adjustable axial flow fan is much higher than that of the inlet guided and regulated centrifugal fan.

2. The adaptability of axial fan to air volume change of air duct system is better than that of centrifugal fan. If the resistance calculation of the duct system is not very accurate, the actual resistance is greater than the calculated resistance, or the fan air volume and wind pressure required by the change of coal type, the unit will not reach the rated output. The axial fan can adjust the opening or closing Angle of the moving blade by using the moving blade (static blade) to adapt to the change of air volume and pressure, but it has little influence on the efficiency of the fan.

3. Axial fan is superior to centrifugal fan in weight and flywheel effect value. Axial fan allows higher speed and higher flow coefficient. Therefore, under the same air volume and pressure parameters, the rotor of axial flow fan is lighter, that is, the flywheel effect value is smaller, so the starting torque of axial flow fan is much smaller than that of centrifugal fan. In general, the starting torque of axial blower and induced draft fan is only 14.2~ 27.8% of that of centrifugal fan.

4. The rotor structure of axial fan is more complex than that of centrifugal fan, with more rotating parts, high manufacturing accuracy and high quality requirements for blade materials. Therefore, the operation reliability of axial fan is slightly worse than that of centrifugal fan. However, due to the introduction of foreign technology, the improvement of materials, structure, design and manufacturing process, the operation reliability of axial flow fan is comparable to that of centrifugal fan.
